1. Fruit Orchard
This is an oasis of fertility and beauty, where neatly tended rows of trees with luscious fruits create an atmosphere of harmony and comfort. In spring, the orchard transforms into a floral paradise, while in summer and autumn, it delights with a variety of juicy fruits. Strolling among the fragrant trees brings a sense of peace and connection with nature.
2. Mezhyhiria Greenhouse
The Mezhyhiria Greenhouse is all about evergreen beauty, where a variety of exotic plants and vegetables bloom throughout the year. The greenhouse is built using Dutch technology. The glass pavilions are filled with vibrant colours and fresh aromas, creating the atmosphere of a tropical garden.
3. Zoological Zone
Within the non-contact zoo area of the Park-Monument, there are various animal species housed in enclosures, including Ukrainian Grey cattle, donkeys, goats, sheep, mouflons, llamas, antelopes, peacocks, ostriches, and more. Ostriches even greet visitors with dances.
4. Museum "Honka" Terrace
The well-known Honka Museum has five floors. The true scale of the building is most evident from the rear side (facing the Kyiv Sea), as the central entrance gives the illusion that the structure only has two floors—a visual trick.
From the rear side, near the Kyiv Sea, you can take stunning photos on the grand staircase or beside the decorations resembling "Greek columns." Additionally, the terrace offers a picturesque view of the landscape, featuring a lake, decorative plants, a bridge made of valuable wood species, and forested ravines.
5. ⭐️ Museum "Honka"
A luxurious wooden palace that served as the residence of a former president, Honka stands as a symbol of extravagance and corruption. The building's interiors astonish visitors with their opulence, featuring premium materials and antique furniture. Tours of Honka provide insight into the corruption during the tenure of the fugitive ex-president, showcasing a lavish lifestyle funded by unrestricted access to state resources — effectively, the people's money. This “private residence” of the ex-president spans an area of 3,200 square meters, boasting 50 rooms with interiors of unparalleled luxury. Investigative journalists revealed the staggering costs of constructing Mezhyhiria and its funding sources.
According to their findings, part of the estate's development cost Ukrainian taxpayers at least ₴1,024,358,000 or €92,000,000 (as reported by media at the end of 2010). For context, in 2014, the year of the president's escape, the average monthly salary in Ukraine was approximately ₴3,180, while the average monthly university scholarship was about ₴730 (€66).
By 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine estimated the estate's value at approximately ₴10 billion. The property inventory process took over a year, with financial documentation substantiating half of this valuation.
6. Decorative Waterfall
Waterfalls are not only a natural phenomenon but also a stunning decorative element in the park's landscape. While visitors to the Park-Monument may not have the chance to capture a photo with a Carpathian waterfall, they can easily pose with the Mezhyhiria decorative one!
7. Rhododendron Collection
The first time you hear the name of the flower — rhododendron — it’s hard to imagine just how delicate and gentle this plant is. How misleading the name of the plant can be! If you delve a little deeper, you'll discover that the word "rhododendron" is derived from two roots: "rhodon," meaning "rose," and "dendron," meaning "tree," which together form the concept of a "rose tree" or "tree with roses." So, let's get deeper into the world of "rose trees" that flourish in the Park-Monument "Mezhyhiria." Rhododendrons (Latin: Rhododendron) are a genus of semi-deciduous, deciduous, and evergreen shrubs and trees from the Ericaceae family, comprising up to 1,300 species and over 10,000 varieties. In the Ukrainian Carpathians, the subalpine meadows are home to the Carpathian Rhododendron (Rhododendron myrtifolium), a species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. In the Polissia region, the Yellow Rhododendron (Rhododendron luteum) is prevalent. Forests with understories containing Rhododendrons are included in the Green Book of Ukraine (2009). The Yellow Rhododendron is also listed in the plant species of Resolution 6 of the Bern Convention. Especially observant visitors may distinguish this rare Rhododendron species among the diverse collection of species and varieties of "rose trees" at the Park-Monument "Mezhyhiria." Some Rhododendrons can grow up to 30 metres tall, while others are shrubs. The flowers of this genus vary widely in size, colour, and shape. It is enough to say that the smallest of them are literally tiny, while the largest can reach up to 20 cm in diameter.
9. Hydrangeas
Hydrangeas have a unique ability to change the colour of their blooms depending on the soil's acidity level. In acidic soils (pH below 5.5), the flowers typically turn blue, while in alkaline soils (pH above 6), they shift to pink or red. This phenomenon occurs because high soil acidity allows the plant to absorb more aluminium, which influences the colouration of the flowers.
10. Small Cherry Blossom Alley
The Small Sakura Alley is a charming corner of refined beauty, where delicate pink blossoms bloom in spring, creating a romantic atmosphere for peaceful strolls, photo sessions, and delightful moments in the bosom of nature.
11. ⭐️ Scenic Viewing Platform
